Off Track

I have been off track lately feeling just overwhelmed with life in general unfortunately  my blog has been on the lower list of my priorities  I hate to admit it,  but honestly it’s true. I am certain all my friends out there can relate, those days were you just want to throw in the towel….

I am in some need of some organizational skills for my blogging. I would greatly appreciate the help or advice on how others stay on track. it seems like I was going along  just fine and then life happen and it just seems like my concentration and  motivation just went to the waste side.

I have a calendar especially for blogging but it doesn’t  quite work if I put things in it. So I ask if any of you use a calendar and if so how do you use it?

Thank in advance my friends!! I really appreciate the feedback.

  1. We try write new blog posts on Mondays and Thursdays. There are two of us so it makes it easier to post on two days. Don’t get discouraged, we don’t always hit this target either. What works for your schedule right now? Let that be your goal and be kind to yourself along the way.

Sister Cindy (GBD above) gives great advice. We always have to remind ourselves that there are no rules in quilting or blogging. Sometimes we all have to wait patiently for inspiration. And the world is so crazy at present that it’s hard for everyone to stay focused!

  3. I agree with Gray Barns, set something up that you can achieve. The first year and a half I blogged once a week on Tuesdays. This year I made the leap to 2 days, Tuesdays and Fridays. I can do it with my schedule, but if things change I plan on going back to one day. Just be consistent. Hope this helps.

  4. Feeling off “track” when “life happens” is just normal. Anyone who can give you advice that applies to you personally is a motivational speaker and wants money for knowledge. Just do the best you can and realize, YOUR BEST IS GOOD ENOUGH. Speaking for speaking only is just shallow, if you need to say something or post something you will. LIFE gets in the way at times but life is life. ~~dru~~

I think feeling off track is normal and more normal than most people want to admit. Sometimes we just need to be “off track”. I do use a calendar. I post on Monday, Wednesday and then Saturday or Sunday. I usually put in ideas for posts in the monthly calendar. If I get an idea on something that is not on the calendar I just fit that in and move something back that is on the calendar. That I what works for me but I’m not suggesting it is right for everyone. Don’t beat yourself up. We will still be here when you are “back on track”.
